Using Wi-Fi - Quick

Connect everything

  • Turn on Monitor

  • Connect HDMI cable

  • Connect power

Use the remote to respond to the on-screen prompts:

  • Pair your Remote

  • Language - English

  • Country - United States

  • Data and Privacy - Continue

  • Siri - Your decision

  • Set Up Your Apple TV - Set Up Manually

  • Select Your Wi-Fi Network - DeviceSetup

  • Enter Password (by voice, if Siri is enabled)

  • Remote Management - Continue

  • Where is this Apple TV? - Pick from list or add new room (start with school name, please - ex. Alba Media Center)

  • Location Services - Enable

Important - Be sure to remove the DeviceSetup network. The Apple TV will then connect to the MDM_Device network automatically:

  • Settings > Network > Wi-Fi > Device Steup > Forget this Network

  • Wait for connection to MDM_Device

Click Menu twice to return to home screen


Ethernet – Even Quicker

Connect Everything

  • Connect HDMI

  • Connect Ethernet

  • Connect Power


Use the remote to respond to the on-screen prompts:

  • Pair your Remote

  • Language - English

  • Country - United States

  • Remote Management - Continue

  • Where is this Apple TV? - Pick from list or add new room (suggestion - School Name + “Media Center”)

  • Location Services - Enable

If you will be using the Apple TV wirelessly after setting up with Ethernet, just unplug the network cable and wait a bit for it to auto-connect to MDM_Device.


Tip:

To help control how students mirror their Apple devices to the screen, require a passcode to connect. Student A will have to stop mirroring before Student B can connect:

  • Settings > AirPlay and HomeKit > Conference Room Display > Require PIN Every Time


Mirror your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to an Apple TV

  • Connect your iPhone, iPad, or iPod touch to the same Wi-Fi network as your Apple TV or AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV.

  • Open Control Center:

      • On iPhone X or later or iPad with iPadOS 13 or later: Swipe down from the upper-right corner of the screen.

      • On iPhone 8 or earlier or iOS 11 or earlier: Swipe up from the bottom edge of the screen.

      • On a MacBook, click the Control Center icon in the top-right menu.


  • Tap Screen Mirroring

  • Select your Apple TV or AirPlay 2-compatible smart TV from the list.

  • If an AirPlay passcode appears on your TV screen, enter the passcode on your iOS or iPadOS device.

  • To stop mirroring your iOS or iPadOS device, open Control Center, tap Screen Mirroring, then tap Stop Mirroring. Or press the Menu button on your Apple TV Remote.

To stop mirroring, return to Control Center > Screen Mirroring and select Stop Mirroring.

End a student's screen-mirroring session

Just press the Menu button on the Apple TV remote to end any active screen mirroring.
