Adobe Express

Adobe Express is a browser-based image, video, and web page creation platform. Materials created through Spark can be easily formatted for social media posts, educational lessons, and student project submissions. In this workshop, you will learn how to use the graphics creation of the interface of Adobe Express. You will also learn how to use the video creation and web page creation interface of Adobe Express. This workshop culminates with the participants completing an image project using Spark that can then be used for their schools or classrooms and receiving steps to complete certification through Adobe. Coding

 Unplugged Coding: No Screens Needed!

Come explore the fundamentals of coding without screen time.  Unplugged lessons are particularly useful for building and maintaining a collaborative classroom environment.  Participants will learn to incorporate movement for 'unplugged' activities and ways to integrate simple robotics.  Get hands-on experience with physical manipulatives, Sphero Indi and VEX 123.  Engage all learners as we explore the COS for digital literacy and computer science.

Blended Learning in the 1:1 Classroom

Because our district has moved to a 1:1 environment with all students having access to a Chromebook, becoming an effective blended learning teacher is imperative.  The purpose of this asynchronous ONLINE course is to help teachers effectively integrate technology tools in their classroom, enabling student engagement through the use of those tools. Through given information, discussions, and interactive activities, teachers will have the opportunity to develop their skills as technology literate professionals who are able to teach, create, and innovate using the many tools available to enhance students’ educational experience.

Intentional and Creative: Maximizing Video in the Classroom

This course is 100% online and asynchronous.

Participants will learn best practices for incorporating video into their classrooms and cycle of instruction.  They will learn the basics of Edpuzzle, a web-based platform to create interactive video lessons, and will create their own lessons for students that they can integrate into Schoology.  They will learn how to track students' progress with realtime analytics.  They will also investigate several screen recording and screen casting options for creating their own video lessons, and will consider ways to have students be the creators of video content.  They will explore ways to incorporate these tools into their classrooms, improving student engagement and learning outcomes.

Google Certified Educator Level 1 

This course is 100% online and asynchronous.

If you are interested in becoming a Google Level I Certified Educator then this session is for you.  By the end of this session, you will be on your way to becoming a Google Level I Certified Educator.  Teachers will learn how to maneuver through Google tasks using Google tools to improve their skills in preparation for the Google Level I Certified Educator Exam.

Participants are required to complete a 4-week asynchronous course, at the end of the course participants are required to take the Google Level I Certified Educator Exam.

Canva for Education

Participants will learn how to use Canva for Education . Canva will allow participants to create classroom posters, presentations, and materials to use with students. Participants will learn how Canva can be used as a tool to create posters for communication. Participants will learn how to search Canva for premade projects and how to assign them to students. Canva integrates with Schoology, so this will be shared and explored.

Nearpod and Flocabulary

Participants will learn new features of Nearpod as well as ways to use reports to help drive instruction. Participants will be engaged with all the features as well as given time to practice all the new activities. Flocabulary will be shared to explain how to engage students with a variety of engaging vocabulary games and activities.
